
Dr. Dane Rook
Dr. Dane Rook is a Research Engineer within SLTI. His research focuses on the intersection of risk analytics, investment technology, and (long-term) institutional investing. The overarching aim of his work is to empower investors to steer capital toward long-horizon transformation projects of socio-environmental benefit. Currently, his chief interests lie in developing ‘resilient’ theories and practices of investment strategy and execution. He has written numerous works in peer-reviewed academic journals, and is co-author (with Dr. Ashby Monk) of the prize-winning book, The Technologized Investor: Innovation Through Reorientation. Previously, he was a Research Associate at the University of Oxford’s Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment. Outside academia, Dr. Rook has undertaken diverse research and engineering projects in the financial technology arena (including work with Addepar, Kensho, and others). He received his doctorate from the University of Oxford (as a Clarendon Scholar), and holds degrees from the University of Cambridge and the University of Michigan.
